Description of Service or Support:

The ISPCC provides a free, comprehensive, community-based one-to-one support service to children and young people who may be experiencing emotional and behavioural difficulties. This is provided by professional ISPCC support workers. The service in Wicklow particularly targets children and young people between the ages of 10 and18 years who are at increased risk of harm due to drug or alcohol misuse. The risk may be identified due to their own experimental use of drugs or alcohol, their involvement with known users, a family history of drug or alcohol use or the fact that they are living in an area of known disadvantage making them potentially more at risk of drug or alcohol use.
