Description of Service or Support: | The programme is a multi agency programme which is part of a National shared service, supported by Age Friendly Ireland. The initiative is facilitated by the County & City Managers association of Local Government. There are 31 programmes across Ireland in each local Authority. Each programme has a strategic Alliance made up of senior decision makers of state services, and representatives from Kildare Older Persons Council. Each county programme develops a strategy based on identified needs of older people and the ageing population. There is also a national oversight implementation team made up of key departmental officials and state services. This allows programmes to influence policies and get support for implementing policies around the country. |
